#TEN FEST
10 Years Later, Yet So Many Firsts
The 10th anniversary of The Number Fest was full of things that were done for the first time. The Number Fests franchise was officially rebranded to be named “The Number Fest - ‘X’th Edition” for each time a Number Fest took place. It was also the first time a Number Fest occurred during the new semester system at Ohio University. As a result, #Fest - 10th Edition took place in the fall of 2012. This was the first time that a Number Fest took place in the fall, as well as the first time there were two Number Fests in the same year. (#Fest - 9th and 10th Editions)
Having #Fest - 10th Edition in the fall didn’t dilute the party spirit or hype, however. Over 8,000 people turned out to see a stacked lineup full of local and national artists. Originally billed to headline was mash-up king 3LAU, Chicago dupstep trio Krewella, and Three 6 Mafia alum Juicy J. However, at the very last moment, Juicy J cancelled as he was invited to perform at the BET Awards in Atlanta on the same day. As a result, event organizers booked hip-hop artist Curren$y and he performed in place of Juicy J. Organizers hailed the 10th anniversary edition as a huge success, citing less arrests while having competitive attendance to years past.
