The Princeton Review opens every school year with a list of who’s who in the world of higher education, and Ohio University was ranked the number one party school in the nation. This was a great atmosphere in which to grow the #FEST, and the growth was large. A partnership in early 2012 with Prime Social Group (PSG) allowed #Fest to grow beyond just being a large college party. It became something much larger, more respectable, and much louder. PSG specializes in EDM mega-shows (including Electro Beach PV, Electric Forest, and others) and was a fellow Ohio-born company. #FEST became bigger and better than anyone expected. The line-up included Chip Tha Ripper, La Native, Dubstep Godfather, 12th Planet, Timeflies, Fools Gold Recs Telephoned, Mixtape Super Dj E-V, Cornelius Jackson & Freaky Franz, Iphonic, and OU’s Bailee Moore.
9Fest was a showcase of some the brightest future stars in the music business. Production costs tripled to create maximum emotion and visual aesthetic. There were more speakers, more lights, brought a bigger stage, it wasn’t your average #FEST anymore, it was something BIG.
