#Fest Announces Efforts To Raise Money For Union Street Fire Victims

AthensFundraiser

During the night of November 16, 2014, a fire tore through Union Street in Athens, Ohio, destroying local businesses and displacing numerous Ohio University students. Many students lost everything in the fire, and these businesses must start from scratch. Fundraising efforts have already started. All are encouraged to donate money, clothes, and other necessities to help out the victims. #Fest wants to help in these efforts as much as possible. Here is our plan:

On Thursday, November 20, all proceeds from #13Fest tickets sold that day will be donated back to The OHIO Parents and Family Endowment & Union Street Fire: Employee Relief Fund. These fundraising efforts are in place to raise money for all the victims of the fire, businesses and students alike.

Additionally, clothing company Homage will donate all proceeds from all Ohio University apparel sold on November 20. Columbus, OH based Homage founder Ryan Vessler, is an Ohio University alum.

We have called Ohio University and the city of Athens our home for over a decade, and we’re happy to do whatever it takes to get everyone back on their feet in the aftermath of this tragedy.

Tickets for #13Fest to benefit the Ohio Family and Parents Endowment & Union Street Fire: Employee Relief fund will become available at 12:01AM on November 20 and will be accessible throughout the day here: ticketf.ly/1s2PlyV

We want to take a moment to acknowledge the local heroes of the Athens Community and send our deepest thanks to all the Firemen, Police Officers and EMS crew members who risked there lives to protect the community. You’ve been our greatest asset over the years at #Fest and your selflessness and heroic efforts have made a tremendous impact!
